How is porcelain made? Spring Workshop in Riga Porcelain Museum

For Easter 2021, Riga Porcelain Museum invites you to discover how porcelain is made. The English-subtitled video demonstrates the porcelain making process. In this video, created especially for the museum's Spring Workshop, artist and museum pedagogue Astra Kaprāne shows the various stages of porcelain making by using a plaster mould to cast a porcelain egg which is then trimmed, glazed and painted.

The video has been created as part of the Spring Workshop project, supported by the Education, Culture, and Sports Department of Riga City Council.

The project is implemented by the Association of Culture Institutions of Riga City Council Riga Porcelain Museum.
