Artists Māra Genere (1943) and Eduards Geners (1940) are outstanding masters of ceramic art who create objects of various shapes as well as decorations. During their creative experience, they have worked with various ceramic materials, mostly clay, chamotte and engineered stone. In their pieces the artists create plot-based compositions of poetic character inspired by nature and folklore. As it was reported before, until 21 August, 2019, there will be a joint exhibition by both artists at Riga Porcelain Museum named “As if in a Song”.
On 17 August, from 12.00 to 17.00, museum educator Astras Kaprāne will conduct a creative porcelain workshop. During the workshop the participants will be able to paint various porcelain dishes with ceramic paints that melt into glaze, which means that it will be possible to use the dishes in practice. Participation fee in the workshop is EUR 5.10 – 10.50, depending on the selected porcelain object. No previous application is needed.
