March 1–31, Riga Porcelain Museum
Tatyana Krivenkova is one of the most variegated and captivating personalities in the Latvian art. She is working in three different mediums – painting, print and ceramics – and in all of these she is able to express herself equally convincingly. Artist’s works are a vivid demonstration of the contemporary art. Even though the aesthetics of non object minimalism prevails in her art, the subject matter is at the most importance and cannot be separated from the object’s shape that forms an individual semiotics.
The artist had developed an interest in porcelain already as a student in the department of monumental painting in the Art Academy of Latvia. She was a regular participant in various ceramic’s symposiums both in Dzinatari and Zvārtava, and had been working in design laboratory of the Emperors Porcelain factory in Saint Petersburg.
In the exhibition will be displayed works that describe the artist’s favorite topics namely mirrors, roses, Saint-Petersburg, loops, sharpness, tenderness, crosses and snowman.
