This is the tenth time the exhibition has brought together local and foreign artists ready to use porcelain to create a piece of art that does not exceed 15 cm in its dimensions. To mark an anniversary of the exhibition a corresponding theme has been selected: History 1:10. This is a period of time that can be analyzed both as a whole as well as each of the exhibitions, artists or works separately. Every event occupies a certain place in the context of the time as well as in the subjective experience therefore the artists have been asked to follow freely the associations suggested by the theme.
In their works the artists have played with ancient artefacts, progress of time as well as personal experience of history and its interpretation. Both universally recognizable as well as more subjective images have been expressed with figural as well as nature or architectural associations. The exhibition characterizes the artists’ perception of history in various angles.
The participation in the competition is subject to competition. All together was submitted 52 applications from which the jury chose 21 works by artists representing countries: Latvia, Russia, England, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, Greece, Canada and USA.
