Riga Porcelaine Museum

Opening of the exhibition on 18 December at 17.00
The International Small Form Porcelain Exhibition represents an annual celebration in the Riga Porcelain Museum as the interpretations of the small form by professionals from different countries are presented together. The art pieces of the small form do not exceed 15 cm in width, depth or height. The creation of an art piece from porcelain within certain dimensions is a real challenge as various technological premises have to be considered. The exhibition shows that the challenge does not limit the artists’ creative fantasy – the pieces of the most diverse stylistics and themes have been created.
The exhibition is taking place for the 8th time and this time it has assembled 50 artists from 12 countries. (UK, Belgium, Estonia, Ireland, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey). Latvian artists, such as Juta Rindiņa, Jānis Kupčs, Ilona Romule, Ainārs Rimicāns, Andris Vēzis, Sarmīte Munde and 30 foreign authors have submitted their latest works to the exhibition. Many artists create pieces particularly for the exhibition as it has gained recognition among professionals.
